Join us for a Pop-Up Museum, a temporary exhibit created by anyone who wants to participate! We set a theme (this one is the beach) and you bring in an item that has something to do with the theme. You'll write out a label for it, put it on display, and mingle around checking out all of the other items. At the end of the two-hour exhibit (or whenever you want to head home,) you will take your item with you. It's a way to show off and learn about hidden collections and talents of those in our community!
Bring anything that represents the beach to you: a shell you found on the beach, a photo of a beach vacation, a painting of the sea, something made with driftwood from the beach, your favorite beach towel - anything! It can be from one of our local beaches, a faraway beach, or even a fictional beach. It's totally up to your interpretation. We love to see a varied collection of all kinds of things.
We will photograph each item and document the Pop Up Museum on our blog as part of our Studio Rhode Westerly project. We believe that everyone is an artist and has something to share - we want to help you to share it!
