Memorial Policies

 

 

MEMORIAL BENCH POLICY

 

Memorial Benches are available to requesting donors who dedicate a contribution of $2,000 or more for such a memorial. Wilcox Park will determine the need, specific style and placement of the bench in conjunction with input from the donor, but full discretion for style and placement of a bench remains with the Wilcox Park Superintendent.

Each memorial dedication will be acknowledged in the Memorial Album.  Additionally, the memorial bench will be marked with a plaque affixed to the bench noting the specific memorial dedication. 

Wilcox Park will regularly maintain benches in a customary manner and in the unfortunate event of vandalism a reasonable attempt will be made in restoration.  A bench vandalized beyond reasonable repair and stolen benches are not required to be replaced by Wilcox Park, however the Donor has the option to purchase a replacement bench at cost.

Amounts of contributions for Memorial Benches in excess of the cost of purchasing and installing benches are retained in the Landscaping and Treework Account with such funds allocated to the care of the woody and herbaceous plants in Wilcox Park.

 

MEMORIAL TREE POLICY

 

Memorial Trees are available to requesting donors who dedicate a contribution of $500 or more for such a memorial.  Wilcox Park will determine the type and location of the tree in conjunction with input from the donor, but full discretion for type and location of the tree remains with the Wilcox Park Superintendent.

Each memorial dedication will be acknowledged in the Memorial Album.  Additionally, the memorial tree will be marked with a tag attached to the tree noting the specific memorial dedication.

Wilcox Park will maintain the tree in a customary manner.  In the event the tree dies within 5 years of planting it will be replaced by Wilcox Park and the memorial maintained. 

Amounts of contributions for Memorial Trees in excess of the cost of purchasing and planting trees are retained in the Landscaping and Treework Account with such funds allocated to the care of all the woody and herbaceous plants in Wilcox Park.

 

MEMORIAL SHRUB POLICY

 

Memorial Shrubs are available to requesting donors who dedicate a contribution of $100 or more for such a memorial.  Wilcox Park will determine the type and location of the shrub in conjunction with input from the donor, but full discretion for type and location of the shrub remains with the Wilcox Park Superintendent.

Each memorial dedication will be acknowledged in the Memorial Album.  Additionally, the memorial shrub will be marked with a tag attached to the shrub noting the specific memorial dedication.
