Homework Help & Tutoring @ the Library

Tue, 01/15/2019 - 9:31am -- MDeSantis

Attention Students and Parents: All students in grades K-8 are now welcome to attend the Westerly Public Library’s upcoming Homework and/or Tutoring Groups!

The two new programs are for students to receive extra help in a variety of subjects at the Library! On Mondays and Thursdays from 5:30-6:30 the new Homework Group will be held, where you can stop in, no sign up required, and do homework in a calm and quiet environment. On Mondays, Homework Group will be held in the Teen Space; on Thursdays it will be in the Roberts Room on the 2nd floor. There will be volunteers to assist with basic questions and computers available for homework.

Then, from 6:30-7:30, also on Mondays and Thursdays, there will be tutoring sessions held. For these, the students must sign up beforehand, either directly through the library's teen space, or by filling out the attached form. If you are interested in the tutoring opportunity, please have a specific area of assistance in mind. To be a part of either program, you do not need to have a library membership. For the sessions, all participants can meet in the teen space of the Westerly Library and then move to other parts of the library as necessary. Parents of children younger than 12 must remain in the library during the length of session that children participate.

If you have any questions, please email Jordynn Celico,

(link sends e-mail), the main tutor and coordinator for the programs, or Melanie,, the young adult librarian.

Interested in being one of our tutors? High school students can earn community service for volunteering as a tutor, contact Jordynn or Melanie to sign up! Thank you!
