CIRCULATION ASSOCIATE, PART-TIME
Westerly Library and Wilcox Park seeks a personable, public service oriented individual to work in their busy Circulation Department. Duties include checking materials in and out, issuing new library cards, assisting patrons in locating books on our shelves and reserving books through interlibrary loans, answering phones, computer assistance, and shelving materials. Additional duties may include supervising volunteers, providing computer assistance to patrons, enforcing library policy, and assisting in other library departments as needed. Must have excellent communication skills, ability to shelve books in proper alphabetical and numerical order, and possess mid-level computer skills.
Hours and Pay:
Starting rate is $15.58 per hour. 19 hours per week. Will be required to work some nights and Saturdays. Current hours for this position are:
Monday 9:00 am – 1:00 pm
Tuesday 12:30 pm – 8:00 pm
Friday 1:00 pm – 6:00 pm
Saturday 12:00 pm – 4:00 pm
Applicant must possess a High School Diploma or equivalent. Experience in customer service preferred. Experience working in a library a plus. EEOA. Background check required.

DEVELOPMENT SPECIALIST, PART-TIME
The Memorial and Library Association of Westerly seeks an enthusiastic, energetic, and community minded para-professional for a new, part-time Development Specialist position. The Memorial and Library Association, established in 1892, oversees Westerly Library and Wilcox Park and directly serves the communities of Westerly RI and Stonington, CT. The Association is a 501(c)3 not-for-profit organization whose mission is to strengthen the community and enrich lives by stimulating intellect and sparking imagination through access to literature, information, nature, and the arts.
The Development Specialist is responsible for all administrative aspects of development and public relations activities. The Development Specialist plays an important role by providing administrative support to the Development Office and participating in all fundraising activities including donor and public relations, direct mail appeals, and special events.
20 hours per week. Evening and weekend hours may be required.
- Associate's degree in a related field
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills
- Knowledge of fundraising and relationship management solution. Knowledge of Blackbaud Raiser’s Edge/NXT preferred.
- Ability to present information concisely and effectively, both verbally and in writing
- Ability to organize and prioritize work
- Ability to work independently with little supervision
