Join us Saturday, June 22 at 1 PM on the Esplanade for the Inaugural Match on the Class of 1969 Westerly High School Chess Table.

The match will be played by Ryan Sowa from North Kingston, and Hayes Goodman from Westerly.

Hayes is the state’s current middle school champion and is the state’s representative in the upcoming Barber Tournament of Champions. The Barber is the national event that takes state champions in grades K-8 from each state.

SRP: Park Star Viewing Picnic

Join us in the evening for a star viewing picnic. All ages are welcome to join. We'll have telescopes set up to view the moon and any prominent planets in the sky. Learn to identify some of the constellations visible in the summer time, the big and small dipper which are viewable all year, and ask questions. We'll also have book recommendations to learn more for all ages.

Toddler Painting @ Library (Birth-4yrs)

Bring your little creatives to learn about different artists through a short story time followed by a group painting class. Each toddler will have their own easel and paper to paint images inspired by the artist of the day. All paints will be nontoxic and eco-friendly. Wear your play clothing and use your imagination while improving motor skills, hand-eye coordination, and meeting new friends! Classes will be held in Wilcox Park near the fountain by the Westerly Library esplanade. Classes will be in the children's area in case of inclement weather.
