Duke Robillard's November 7th concert accompanying his Hoxie Gallery Art Show with Linda Peduzzi will feature the Duke Robillard Band performing an array of blues, swing and perhaps a touch of original roots rock and roll, depending on Duke's preference when he and his band of long standing, in demand musicians takes the stage.
No matter what Duke prefers to play that evening, the show will contain an exciting array of material drawn from his 50 years of leading bands from 1967 to today. Duke's acclaim has been recognized worldwide for decades for musical collaborations with such icons such Jay McShann, Jimmy Witherspoon, Bob Dylan, Tom Waits, Billy Boy Arnold, Roscoe Gordon, Maria Muldaur, Joe Turner, J. Geils, The Fabulous Thunderbirds and more, truly a Who's Who of top artists. Duke has won four Blues Music Awards for best blues guitarist in four out of five consecutive years, also garnering a Keeping the Blues Alive award for record production. He's been nominated twice for Best Blues recording at the Grammy's, and has been nominated for countless other awards in France, Canada and other countries, including two Boston Music Awards for best Blues band. Nominated for over 20 Blues Music Awards, Duke has also received the prestigious Rhode Island Pell Award for Excellence in the Arts and was named number 25 of the 50 most important Rhode Islanders in 2018.
