The Westerly Library is hosting a Native American Beading workskop for ages 10-15.
Registration is required and snacks will be provided by the teen space. Registration is limited to a max of 10 spots.
This program will be led by beadworker, Mishki Thompson. She is a member of the Narragansett Indian Tribe. As a disabled wife and mother of 3, she developed her craft into a small business to help contribute to her family. Specializing in hair bows, earrings, loom-beading and needlepoint, Mishki is constantly learning new techniques to enhance her business. Mishki was recently awarded a RISCA grant to share her traditional beadwork techniques at local libraries and the Tomaquag Museum. Please join her in making a pin, keychain or zipper pull while also learning a little about her culture.
Please contact Bethany firstname.lastname@example.org for questions on the youth workshop.
