Native American Beading workskop for ages 16 and older. Registration required, limited to 12 spots.
This workshop will be led by Mishki Thompson. She a member of the Narragansett Indian Tribe. As a disabled wife and mother of 3, she developed her craft into a small business to help contribute to her family. Specializing in hair bows, earrings, loom-beading and needlepoint, Mishki is constantly learning new techniques to enhance her business. Mishki was recently awarded a RISCA grant to share her traditional beadwork techniques in a series of workshops at local libraries and the Tomaquag Museum. Please join her in making a pin, keychain or zipper pull while also learning a little about her culture.
