Westerly Library and Wilcox Park is excited to partner with The Museum of Jewish Heritage: A Living Memorial to the Holocaust, the Holocaust Center of Pittsburgh, and the Mystic Seaport to tell this fascinating story from World War II; the story of the boat Gerda III, a Danish lighthouse tender that played a critical role in carrying Jews to safety in Sweden during October of 1943. Viewers will hear survivor accounts, oral histories, and see behind the scenes footage of the vessel.
This program will take place on Zoom, and advanced registration (no later than Sunday, May 22nd) is required. A Zoom link will be sent to registrants on the morning of the program. Please contact Cassie at cskobrak@westerlylibrary.org or (401) 596-2877 x306 with questions.
