Create Juneteenth Posters in Teen Space! Teens in grades 7-12 are invited to create posters and learn about Juneteenth. A blending of the words June and nineteenth, Juneteenth commemorates 19 June 1865, the day enslaved African Americans in Galveston, TX were told of their freedom, more than 2 years after President Lincoln issued the Emancipation Proclamation on 1 January 1863, declaring all enslaved people free.
