The League of Women Voters South County announces a series of programs in 2020 to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the ratification of the 19th amendment which granted women the right to vote.
The first in this series is: a PBS movie, “One Women, One Vote” narrated by Susan Sarandon. This film begins with Elizabeth Cady Stanton’s call for women’s rights at Seneca Falls in 1848 and continues to the final fight in the 1900s resulting in women winning the right to vote. Many women and a few men devoted their lives to making America a democracy
This film is suitable for adults and middle school and high school students.
