Please join us for a screening of the film Mr. Holmes, followed by a Q&A with our Artist-in-Residence, Dave Solomon!
In addition to his own film work, Dave Solomon worked as the Assistant to Oscar-Winning screenwriter and director Bill Condon on the films Mr. Holmes and Disney's live-action Beauty and the Beast. Solomon lived in London for two years and spent the summer of 2014 in the English countryside working alongside Condon, and acclaimed actors Ian McKellen and Laura Linney, on the picturesque, mysterious and moving story of an aging Sherlock Holmes. In the film, McKellen plays a retired Sherlock who struggles with dementia, but develops an unexpected friendship with a young boy who encourages him to dig into his deepest memories to solve one of his final cases. Solomon will be present at the screening and offer a Q&A after to answer questions about the process and his experience working on the film.
