Terrace Room Events:
1:00 - 2:00: Enjoy making snake decorations at the Children's Craft table.
1:00 - 2:00: Stop by author and illustrator Regina Linke's table as she guides you through creating beautiful cherry blossom branches.
Auditorium Events:
2:15 - 2:45: Chinese lion dance is a festive, cultural performance combining the movement and spirit of kung fu with drumming and other percussion instruments. It is especially significant at Lunar New Year, and symbolizes fostering positivity and the warding away of negative energy. Attendees of all ages will be enthralled by the performance, and will have the opportunity to ask questions and interact with the costume pieces.
The Rhode Island Kung Fu & Lion Dance Club is a non-profit 501c3 cultural & martial arts group practicing kung fu & Chinese lion dance in the Providence-area and beyond. The group looks forward to sharing lion dance at the Westerly Library for the Year of the Snake.
