TECHNOLOGY & INNOVATION COORDINATOR
Westerly Library and Wilcox Park seeks an innovative, public service oriented individual to coordinate and implement public technology services for all ages. The full-time Technology and Innovation Coordinator will be responsible for managing the public computer lab and Makerspace, as well as developing related programs and instruction.
The ideal candidate will have the ability to: answer directional and informational questions about the Library, including its services, materials, programs, and initiatives; assist library patrons in using the Library's maker resources and equipment, for example: 3D printer, laser cutter/engraver, Audio/Video conversion equipment, as well as low-tech tools, plan and conduct maker programming, maintain liaison activities with relevant organizations, keep current with trends and issues in innovations and the maker community; assist in promoting maker resources and services; and serve as a technology and maker resource for staff.

Hours and Pay:
35 hours per week. $22.25 per hour. Benefits included. Will be required to work some evenings and Saturdays.
Qualifications:

HEAD OF YOUTH SERVICES
The Memorial and Library Association of Westerly seeks an innovative, engaged, energetic, and action and customer-oriented professional for our Head of Youth Services position at this busy, progressive organization. The Memorial and Library Association, established in 1892, oversees Westerly Library and Wilcox Park and directly serves the communities of Westerly, RI and Stonington, CT. The Association is a 501(c)3 not-for-profit organization whose mission is to strengthen the community and enrich lives by stimulating intellect and sparking imagination through access to literature, information, technology, nature, and the arts.
The Head of Youth Services oversees all aspect of the Kids’, Tweens’, and Teens’ Departments and its staff. They will work closely with, and be a resource for, a team of three Youth Services Librarians. This position is responsible for activating the Youth Services Team to achieve strategic goals, ensure related community collaborations, set youth service standards, and provide the highest quality youth services experience. They are also responsible for managing schedules, advising staff regarding department budgets, anticipating short and long-term youth service needs, working with the library’s Education Committee, providing library education and instruction, building external collaborations, and initiating outreach.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- A Master’s Degree in Library and Information Sciences from an accredited Library School
- Five years or more experience in public libraries, two years of which must be related to Children’s and/or Youth Services
- Knowledge and experience in the reading, viewing and learning habits of youth and teens
- Keeps current with library trends and issues in library service and technology
- Knowledge of policies, procedures and functions of library systems, with particular emphasis on services to children, parents, and caregivers
- Experience working with school systems a plus
- Supervisory experience
